Finally we are in New York. It meets us with cold but thankfully dry weather. Runways cross cross fields of snow. 10 minute drive – narrow streets, bumper-to-bumper parking, honking despite the late hour and we are finally checked in to Holiday Inn Express. The room is clean and feels like a sauna. Coffee maker does not work and I am too exhausted to go downstairs – so I settle for tap water. There are 3 intense packed days ahead. I am excited and almost happy – I did pull it off despite all the odds. Yes, I had to check-in my bag and yes I am wearing a compression garment AND a piece of foam glued to my stomach. And, YES, it all makes me feel bulky. Plus my beautiful yellow-green new breasts with bits of sutures sticking out. But what matters the most is- I am here to divide and conquer (I hope I am quoting it right). I am a bit scary for my fingers and I do hope that toe warmers will work fine for the hands. Klimt, Austrian cafe, Central Park and 5th Avenue are in the plans for tomorrow. Will keep you posted.
