This is one of the typical posters of the early Soviet Era – woman worker. And that’s how I felt today. Surprisingly, just like in the old Beatles song “Yesterday all my troubles seemed so far away” for me today all the complaints of yesterday are pushed back. I am back to work – 26 patients on the schedule for the two of us and more than 100 files in the box to go through. And suddenly I forget about the nausea, about the fatigue and dry mouth. I drink all the thermos of my tea easily and I work with 10 minute lunch break from 8:30 until 5 PM. Or maybe it’s about time for AC to let me go from their clutches. I even come home and march for another 4000 steps. Maybe neulasta stimulates my mitochondria instead of white cells, who knows?
I also get my fate about impending dental job. I am likely to opt for taking my tooth out in order to deal with infection swiftly, God forbid anything will interfere with the planned course. Whatever it takes. I am ready.
Tomorrow is my video consultation with plastic surgeon. I expect to become an expert in reconstruction. I am getting my list of questions ready. Mainly, when can I resume swimming and when I will be able to go skiing. For some reason skiing is a benchmark of health – if I can ski next season I am fine.
Now it’s almost 11 PM and honestly, I am finally tired. It’s a short but intense week and I intend to give and take the most from it. Maybe it’s the flower moon that is favorable to me. Regretfully, I missed the meteor shower. Oh well, next time.
One last note and I am off to bed. My taste is slightly better and I was able to enjoy dinner rather than just chew on a jar of sardines because I needed protein. My mom cooked Moroccan Fish. And I absolutely loved it. It has definitely raised my spirits even more. I went through dozens of recipes and concocted something that I would like (I actually would love it to be spicier). My Mom says it is important to know the principle. (The idea). The rest are adjustments made according to traditions, tastes, and what’s available in the kitchen pantry and refrigerator.
