This is not the moon but rather the sun peaking out from the clouds. Typical Los Angeles mornings – cloudy early on followed by blazing heat till the end of the day. But even the cloudy mornings are beautiful when the sun has a halo in the clouds. My one major achievement for the week is that I dropped the wig. I am going as is – my eyebrows, my eyelashes and my hair. Short, salt and pepper but mine. Goodbye the cheap stethoscope and my wonderful ears of many years are back. I do more, feel more, and want so much more. I still have to adhere to my supplement routine though and I am still waiting on the iron to come in so that I can finally get it. Will it turn me into the Iron Lady?

I still think cancer is life changing event and just like anything that changes course of your life it can either break you or make you stronger. I, for obvious reasons, prefer the latter. I am emerging stronger and better than I was before (I hope so). The changes that I have made are here to stay and it is re-evaluating and changing lifestyle not just one thing. And maybe because I am quite partial to patients with cancer I spend more time on counseling, more time on my old mantra – cancer likes sugar and inflammation and those are the things that we should not be giving it freely and willingly. The formula for prevention is simple and fits into preventing any serious condition. It is something we are told everywhere all the time but chose to ignore and find excuses – eat well (less carbs, less bad fats, less processed foods, more mediterranean diet), sleep well (no screens before bed, 7-8 hours, treating sleep apnea), move well (regular exercise, both weight bearing and resistance training) and less stress (calming adaptogens, meditation). Easier said than done but doable nevertheless. I added FITME app to my routine and I love it. Short workout sitting on the chair suits my needs. It has been three week long streak and I am trying to see if I have gotten a hint of muscle on my arms.

I am so looking forward to the next weekend in San Francisco. No wig, no mask. I am free.
