Finally, I am on the plane after being on the land for almost a year and a half. I am in San Francisco and this is the view from my hotel room. I have made grandiose plans at first but the felt awfully tired. Fortunately the girls (my daughter and her friend are not the avid hikers and they did not mind just having a quiet dinner at the hotel restaurant. There is lots to do tomorrow though.
In the meantime every single day I think of how lucky I am. I think my perception has changed – small things no longer irritate me to the point of no return and I let them slide easily. I am simply happy to be alive, happy with every new day. I chased the hummingbirds at sunset with my camera yesterday and every clear shot is a good enough reason to feel happy. I got iron (finally) and felt happy as well. I will not be discouraged by persistent issues with taste. I don’t think I feel the effects of the iron so far. Even for the short trip I have my bottle with capsule of all sizes and colors and packets with probiotic.
I have made everyone travel light – backpacks only so I was trying to find the way to economize on weight of my back pack – instead of slippers I took plastic booties worn in the OR, I also got 4 lengths of dental floss and no electric kettles this time.
I really want and plan to live to the fullest. Let’s see what San Francisco has to offer…
