I am sure that a good friend of mine whose bread and butter is jail software can appreciate this picture. Everywhere I searched for an image I found strike three and you are out. Well, I am not. It was strike 3 for me today and strike four is coming in 3 weeks. It was a busy day and it is not over yet. I had a chance to talk to two wonderful ladies and practice my Latvian today. One of them has actually inspired me to order smoked meats for my family. Yes, I know there are probably carcinogens in smoked meats but we eat them once in what? 25 years. So I think there is much more damage from all fronts than that one serving (or two or three) of smoked chicken. When I was growing up there were a lot of smoked foods around me. Smoked fish, seafood and meats. We had a dedicated restaurant and it was build from old row boats. Families sat in half boats that were put vertically and it was on the seaside and the smell of smoked chicken was wonderful.

As I am writing this I have been fasting (almost – all I had was yogurt and banana) for 46 hours. And I don’t really want to eat. Looking at the bright side I am only slightly nauseous and my head is only slightly heavy and my brain is only slightly foggy (since evidently I am able to get through the fog). I also managed to do 5 telemed and drive the kids half way around the city. So, I really cannot complain.

What I will complain about is tariffs. Dunno if I am the first victim of tariffs but I am angry. I ordered custom made backdrops on Etsy. Specifically for today. My brother is planning to visit Kopenahagen so I have found my best shot of Nuhavn and ordered it as a 5×7 print. I added poppies from Elsinore castle for Mother’s Day. Today I realized I should have gotten them already and what do you know? The package has been in DHL Cincinnati waiting for my explanation of what’s in it to determine the tariff that needs to be paid before it can be released!!!!! Grrrrrr. I am always prepared for celebration but this???!!! Talk about politics.

On a more serious note related to me, third strike for me is a timer that started ticking in planning my surgery. It is the big next step. I am leaning towards keeping my boobs the same size (but perkier looking). My friends who are men suggesting bigger and better. My friends who are women are asking if I want to add back pain to my problems. What do you think? Frankly, I don’t really care. I am happy with the same size, I just want it to be gone. The rest are really minor details.

Back to the day – my son is making pizza from scratch. We’ll see what will come out of it. That’s our new high.
