Seriously! Who is in charge here? This is one of the shots during yet another unexpected stop on the way home. Our two day trip although relaxed and unhurried had many stops and all in all we have covered over 500 miles. Day 2 was more intense (at least for me). A morning walk on the beach. Cloudy but fresh ocean air! I love it. My daughter kept laughing that I should bottle it up and take it home. Then a show of ground squirrels playing with each other and asking for peanuts. I stood and shoot. And more and yet again being unable to leave. I was wondering why there were people on the beach with buckets and rakes. Later about that. The day was beautiful with sunny and cloudy unpredictably following one another. We went to Cambria, small town full with shops and cafes. And that was exactly what we did – shopping boutiques and having breakfast followed by coffee. We then went to Moro Bay that turned to be too cloudy for pictures (especially instagram pictures for my daughter), Avila Beach farmers markers and then decided to head to Nohoqui Falls. We drove there and walked to the waterfalls just to find…. there was no water there. Falls are practically dry. Since they are so close to Solvang we decided to have our second coffee there. Solvang evoked so many memories. I first went there 30 years ago. And on the way to Solvang there is an ostrich farm where the beauty commander was trying really hard to snatch a bowl of feed from my hands. I tried to adopt a similar look and I held to that brown with all my might leaving him (or her) no other option but to peck inside the bowl. Top it with sunset in Santa Barbara which was surprisingly NOT into the ocean and a surprise 5 minute visit to my daughter’s friend and voila! 36 hours later we are back home. And yes, my arms got a bit tired but other than that my battered anemic post chemo and surgery self tolerated the trip (although I did look similar to the commander ostrich especially my hair). Now I am already looking for other day trips.
In the meantime I am back to 28 capsules and the rest. Working on range of motion and core strengthening. Tomorrow I will try to get myself iron IV since I think iron capsules will take me forever and ever and ever to get back where I want my red count to be. Surprisingly how much more is needed AFTER surgery and chemo (I for some radiation as well) before really being well. But the big 2 are behind and I really like it that way.
